Global Studies IRIS: 2017 call for student initiatives and mobility

Le

Global Studies is an Interdisciplinary and Strategic Research Initiative (IRIS) funded by PSL (Paris Sciences et Lettres) and supervised by Alessandro Stanziani. Its aim is to organize the research forces within PSL in the field, including those at EPHE, ENS, EHESS, EFEO, Collège de France, Université Paris Dauphine, and CNRS.

The Global Studies IRIS studies the world as a whole, in all of its historic depth and in its social and political dimensions. Multidisciplinarity, transversality, field studies and cultural decentration guide this area of inquiry focused in three main areas:

1. Politics in a globalized space
2. Beyond Europe: connections, dependencies, and historical dynamics
3. Long-term global prospects through the lens of Asia

PSL’s Global Studies IRIS supports student participation in its initiatives. Two types of aid are available to this end: field support, and options for students to participate in or organize research days. The maximum aid granted will be 3000 euros.

Interested students may apply until April 20, 2017 (see attached documents).
