The Symphony Orchestra and Choir is Looking for Members!
Do you sing or play an instrument? Would you like to join a dynamic, enthusiastic orchestra? Come and audition for the PSL Symphony Orchestra and Choir!
Under the direction of Johan Farjot, the PSL-OC offers an exciting musical adventure, with a season of concerts in beautiful Paris venues featuring prestigious soloists. It will soon be performing in Mumbai, India, with additional concerts scheduled outside Paris during the season.
On the program for the 2017-2018 season: the German Requiem by Brahms, Grieg’s Peer Gynt, choral and symphonic pieces by Wagner, Saint-Saëns, gospel, orchestral jazz and more.
Rehearsals
- The Orchestra has rehearsals on Mondays from 7:30 to 10:00 pm in the Library of the Paris-Tech School of Chemistry, 11 rue Pierre et Marie Curie in the 5th arrondissement. The first rehearsal is scheduled for Monday, September 26.
- The Choir rehearses on Tuesdays from 8:00 to 10:00 pm at PSL, 62 bis rue Gay-Lussac in the 5th arrondissement. The first rehearsal is scheduled for Tuesday, September 27.
Auditions
Auditions to become a member will be held by appointment in the music theater of the École Normale Supérieure, 46 rue d’Ulm (5th arrondissement), at the following times:
- Friday, September 15, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
- Monday, September 18, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
- Friday, September 22, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
- Saturday, September 23, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
These auditions are for instrument players and choral singers. Candidates will be asked to perform a selection of their choice (a piano accompanist will be available if necessary) as well as a sight-reading exercise.
