Marie Curie dans son laboratoire

Lecture by Natalie Pigeard-Micault, historian, head of the Curie Archives and author of "Les femmes du laboratoire de Marie Curie" ("The Women of Marie Curie's Laboratory") (Ed Glyphe, 2013).

From the 1903 Nobel Prize, to her admission into the Pantheon, the image of Marie Curie has been transformed into a national icon of science.

Is this image, which was intended to portray this female scientist, truly representative?
Does the image correspond to that of Marie Curie? What aspects of this image do others scientists look up to as a model? What impact does this reconstructed image still have today on gender stereotypes, but also on science and its teaching? These are the questions that the speaker proposes to analyze.
