In 1887, at the time of the sale of the jewels of the crown of France by the republic, some pieces are selected by experts to be preserved. They will be deposited in 3 Parisian museums, the Louvre, the National Museum of Natural History and the Museum of Mineralogy of the Ecole des Mines de Paris.

Starting January 5, the Museum of Mineralogy offers the visitor 3 new windows dedicated to the amethysts, emeralds and royal and imperial pink tops that were entrusted to him over 125 years ago. Most of these pruned gems have never been exposed. It is a great opportunity to come see them and discover this magnificent museum which also contains more than 4500 samples of minerals, rocks, gems and meteorites
