On the occasion of the Science Festival, the ENS - PSL is offering a series of conferences, exhibitions and visits to discover in more detail the work of Dmitri Mendeleïev and the elements of the periodic table.

In 2019, scientists around the world are celebrating 150 years of the Periodic Table of Elements. On this occasion the ENS - PSL proposes two events:

  • Exhibition: Mendeleïv in the scientific libraries of the ENS-PSL. Organized by the Experimental Sciences Library and the CAPHES Documentation Centre, this exhibition will showcase works on Dimitri Mendeleïev, with particular attention to the impact of the periodic table of elements in the history of chemistry.
  • Laboratory Earthquakes: Thank you Germanium! The Geosciences Department offers young and mature visitors alike the opportunity to discover how Germanium has made it possible to solve the enigma of deep earthquakes in laboratories.

Workshops, visits and conferences are also to be found in the Physics, Chemistry and Cognitive Studies departments.
