The École nationale des chartes has an exceptionally well-developed library in the disciplines corresponding to its core fields: history and its sources, palaeography, philology, the history of the book... Since 2017, it has been located on the Richelieu site, alongside the BnF and INHA, where it is hosted by the rotonde Henri-Jean Martin and the wing along the rue des Petits-Champs, designed by the architect Henri Labrouste in the 1860s.

The library team offers guided tours of its heritage spaces and of its book collections, in the rotonde Henri-Jean Martin. The School's editions show a selection of books on the stand of the BnF-Tschann 13 bookshop, in the Salon d'honneur at 58, rue de Richelieu.
