"La Sauvage" by Jean Anouilh

visuel de la pièce

Theatrical troupe Les Petits Sauvageons are proud to present "La Sauvage,” an unknown masterpiece of Jean Anouilh!

This work has been rarely represented since it was created in 1938. Under the guise of comedy, Anouilh poses a tragic question: Is a happy life worth living? This is Thérèse’s dilemma. She is a young musician struggling in a mediocre orchestra; Florent offers her his love, fortune and especially the spotless serenity of life in an environment protected from all the pains, cruelties and shame of human life. Surrounded by a myriad of interesting characters, these opposite lovers lead the dance of death, all themes later presented in the famous play about Antigone and Creon.
