But this openness to current events is based on a reflection dating back twenty-five centuries, because certain principles highlighted by Sun Tzu, Thucydide or Xenophon have a timeless range. This perspective in the long term of military thinking is essential to resist the mediatic fashion effects that make situations and strategic ideas as old as war itself, seem new or revolutionary.

This MOOC is for everyone with an interest in strategy. will take place over 7 weeks. It is particularly suitable for students who wish to specialize in military history and defence issues. It is also aimed at a wider audience who wish to go beyond clichés and understand for themselves the ins and outs of the contemporary strategic situation.
