Nexus Water & Power Project Kick-off

Nexus eau energie

For the official launch of the Nexus Water & Power Project, an exceptional series of lectures will take place with the central theme: "from fundamental research to environmental transition".

Context. Universal access to water and power are two fundamentally interrelated challenges for the future of the planet. Water management requires power for sanitation and desalination; power production requires water, for example for cooling thermal power plants.

The project. Nexus aims to address water & energy issues by developing and using the fundamental discoveries made in the field of nanomaterials, metamaterials, and nanofluidics. This world-class center will bring together a unique combination of cutting-edge technologies relevant to sustainable research and development. Nexus will enable the transfer of scientific discoveries to a semi-industrial scale.

Partners. Nexus will federate the actions of researchers involved in theInstitut Pierre Gilles de Gennes IPGG LabEx (micro and nano-fluidics), the WIFI LabEx (wave science and applications), ESPCI Paris - PSL, Chimie ParisTech - PSL, ENS - PSL, Institut Curie and the Paris FlowTech platform (platform for intensified process chemistry) as well as research centers based in Bordeaux, Lyon, Montpellier, Roubaix and Grenoble.
