Dipesh Chakrabarty

An Indian historian who has contributed to postcolonial and subaltern studies, Dipesh Chakrabarty is a distinguished professor of history at the University of Chicago. In 2014, he received the Toynbee award, which rewards social science researchers for their academic work and public contributions to humanity.
