With theoretical courses, press conferences and practical workshops led by recognized experts, this professional training covers all stages of creation including the daily context of the job of cartoonist and illustrator.
From May 25th to June 29th, 2018, every Friday, and workshop on June 27th, 28th and 29th. 8 days in total.
Learning outcomes:
To provide training or further education in illustration in the field of the press through theoretical and practical courses. Accompany illustrators in search of academic recognition.
Teaching methods:
Theoretical courses on the job environment of a cartoonist: introduction to press drawing, law, ethics and deontology in the press field, professional status of the press cartoonist, new visual writings…Practical workshops of the conference press will produce the drawing of the day accompanied by journalists, professional cartoonists and an artistic director.

Prerequisites:
Background in drawing, illustration, general cultural knowledge, interest in the news. Send a resume, a portfolio of 4 to 8 A4 sheets and a cover letter (PDF format, 5 MB maximum).
Equipment provided by the school: complete drawing material, computers, tablets, printer, scanner, etc.
Profile of trainers:
Teachers, journalists, professional cartoonists (members of Cartooning for Peace), researcher, lawyer. Fifteen specialists will cover all areas proposed during these eight days.
In partnership with the IPJ (Institut Pratique du Journalisme, Université Paris-Dauphine).
