Demonstration - How to measure radioactivity with the Curie method

For the 2020 Science Festival, the museum of Institut Curie invites you to see a scientific performance: the experiment conducted by Pierre et Marie Curie to measure radioactivity.

The demonstration will recreate a historical scientific experiment: when Marie et Pierre Curie measured radioactivity. The detection system designed by Pierre Curie in 1898 enabled the two scientists to discover polonium and radium. Their experimental system is exhibited at the museum with the historical tools has been restored and can be operated. A lecturer will live recreate the Curie expriment.
