Institut Curie celebrates the Science Festival

Pierre et Marie Curie

On the occasion of the Science Festival, the Musée Curie invites you to participate in a demonstration of the Curie Method under the same conditions as in 1898, as well as a thematic visit about Polonium and Radium.

The objective of the conference-workshop is to reconstruct, with the same instruments, a historical scientific experiment: the first measurement of radioactivity, under the same material conditions as Pierre and Marie Curie in 1898. This experience was named after them: the Curie Method.

The second part of this Science Festival will focus on two chemical elements discovered in 1898 by Pierre and Marie Curie: Radium and Polonium. This exhibition will feature documents, objects and instruments used by the two scientists, enabling us to trace the history of these two elements and in particular their use before they were discovered.
