The event combines lectures, writers' words, works and interventions by visual artists, film directors, actors and directors.
We organize these study days from the perspective of today's artists on this decisive moment in Algerian and French history. The event is not intended as a conference of researchers, nor as a historical retrospective on the subject; it is intended as an introduction to the subject for those who feel a gap needs to be filled, a debate has to be resumed: meet the artists - Algerians, French, Franco-Algerians, descendants of combatants of both sides, or simply the peoples who have lived and suffered through the war.
The event takes place in the Journées du Département d’Histoire et Théorie des Arts de l'École normale supérieure.
