For its 10th production, the Do’s Musical association is showcasing the Broadway musical 9 to 5 The Musical in 2026, written by Dolly Parton and Patricia Resnick, based on the cult film directed by Colin Higgins.
Set in the atmosphere of the 1970s, this musical blends energetic choreography, jazz and country sounds, and biting humor. The story follows three secretaries who decide to get revenge on their boss, an authoritarian and caricatured manager. Following an unexpected misunderstanding, they regain control of their office and transform their professional lives into a fairer and more supportive environment.
Behind its lighthearted and humorous tone, the show subtly addresses themes that remain relevant today: professional inequalities, everyday sexism, power dynamics, and the evolving world of work.
This new production brings together 53 passionate students:
• a troupe of 24 artists (singing, dancing, acting)
• a live orchestra of 13 musicians
• a costume and set design team of 12 people
Four performances will take place from March 27 to 30, 2026 at the MPAA Saint-Germain.
