Rainer Simon, Senior Scientist at the Digital Insight Lab of the Austrian Institute of Technology, gives a lecture in English entitled "Places and Traces: Space and Time in Pelagios and the linked Places Data Model".

Pelagios is the reference infrastructure for linking geohistorical data: it provides online resources and a forum on open data methods for linking and exploring historical sites. Pelagios supports in particular the Peripleo search engine, which aims to improve the binding of resources that document the past, and Recogito, a collaborative and shared annotation platform for geographical data. Since gaze makers are the backbone of the Pelagios initiative, reflection will focus on formats useful for their binding, in particular Linked Places.
