Accommodation in public student housing

There are many public student dormitories in the Ile-de-France region. Living there is a very good way to discover Parisian student life, especially during your first years at university. This page tells the different options available and the requirements to benefit from them.

Housing in a university dormitory with the PSL Housing Service

PSL's Housing Service (SAL) own approximately 800 beds in about 20 dormitories.

Different types of housing are offered through the partners that PSL develops. The offers are:

  • Crous housing / dormitories
  • Public landlords with moderate rents (around €500), eg: ALJT, Sequens, Arpej...
  • Private housing with affordable rents, between 600 and 700€; Dauphine-PSL owns two housing of this type.

Such accommodation is mainly located in the inner suburbs or in Paris, no more than 45 minutes away from educational buildings.

Most places in housing are booked by the host school. Allocations to housing are conditional on the student's enrollment in a Université PSL's school.

FAQ

I'm a French student, or an international student who's been in France for at least two years; I'm admitted into a full academic year in one of the PSL schools
  • Enrollment

In order to apply for housing in our accommodation, you must be enrolled in one of the Université PSL schools, or you must be admitted at the end of the application procedure if this is your first year of study (you will be asked for proof of admission during the procedure). PSL's Housing Service does not manage any allocation for stays shorter than one academic year, except in exceptional cases.

  • Fee to benefit from the Housing service

If you choose to be helped to find accommodation, you will be asked to pay a €49 housing assistance fee during the procedure. This fee only applies to housing requests processed by the PSL Housing Service.

  • Allocation criteria

Housing is allocated on the basis of income, geographical location and level of study (students who are farthest from the PSL campuses, and younger students, will be given priority).

  • You are a Crous scholarship holder

The PSL Housing Service will be happy to help you accommodate. You should also apply for a student social package (Dossier Social Etudiant, DSE) as soon as March. The rents charged by the Crous are lower than those we can offer you with our partners. PSL's Service Accueil Logement is no part in the housing allocation process by the Crous de Paris. For information only, there are about 15 allocations per year for DSE holders among for Dauphine students. Scholarship holders in levels 5 to 7 are generally given priority. However, if you wish, you can also apply online to our accommodation. Your application will be considered a priority.

  • You are not a scholarship holder

You may apply for housing at the PSL Housing Service in the same way as scholarship holders. However, your application will not be given priority. Non-scholarship students are usually not assigned to Crous housing but to the housing from our partners. For information, last year, we managed to offer accommodation to all the students who had requested one.

I'm a student enrolled in the CPES Undergraduate program or in the Sustainability Sciences Undergraduate program (SMD)

PSL's Housing Service assists students enrolled in CPES or SMD program to find housing. Priority is given to students with Crous scholarship holders from level 1 to 7. However, Crous 0bis scholarship holders may also benefit from housing, subject to availability after allocation to higher level scholarship holders. I'm a student with special needs (documented disability)

Are you a student with special needs, admitted into one of our school and do you wish assistance from PSL Housing service? Please contact us first by e-mail: logement.housing[@]psl.eu. We will do our best to offer you an adequate accommodation.

Simultaneously, you should make an appointment with the social worker in charge of people with disability at the Crous de Paris, Mrs Claudine Basselancien, who can be reached by e-mail social.dauphine[@]crous-paris.fr. She will consider your request and assess your needs with you.

The PSL Housing Service has available accommodation adapted to people with reduced mobility in the Housing by Dauphine Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine dormitory. The ride between the housing and the campus is not provided by the Housing service.

PLEASE NOTE: A request or application will not result automatically in the allocation of a rent. Nevertheless, the PSL Housing Service will do its utmost to accommodate each student who applies. Allocations are subject to availability and a waiting list will be set up.
Incomplete application packages will not be considered.
