PSL Hack 2017

Le
Des étudiants au laboratoire testant des machines à ESPCI

As part of the PSL engineering Open House week exchanges between ESPCI Paris, Chimie ParisTech and MINES ParisTech, ESPCI Paris will be hosting an exciting week of learning based on the hackathon model: PSL-Hack. The French utility EDF is partnering with us for this debut hackathon.

The event, which from March 20-24, 2017 will bring together students, faculty researchers, experts, entrepreneurs and lecturers, has a twofold goal. First and foremost, it will serve to spark PSL students’ interest in entrepreneurship, while also providing them with the opportunity to bring their own collaborative and innovative projects to fruition in a space that reaches beyond their host institutions.

This year, PSL-Hack and EDF chose the theme of “transforming energy use in the digital age”.
Specifically, EDF will lead several brainstorming sessions on topics related to this overall theme:

  • “Smart Street”
  • Will voice become the interface of the future?
  • Smart lighting for neighborhood businesses
  • Electric vehicle services

Students will have the opportunity to attend various lectures and workshops on topics ranging from creativity to project launch and legal considerations, and will have access to resident experts and entrepreneurs as well as pitch preparation sessions.

Among the highlights of these five days dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship will be four events open to the public, hosted by the Pierre-Gilles de Gennes Institute (IPGG, a satellite of ESPCI Paris).  Prior registration is required.
