Université PSL welcomes inaugural Lafayette Fellows
September 2, Université PSL welcomed seven American students as part of the Lafayette Fellowship program, who are hosted by five Université PSL Component Schools: Ecole nationale des Chartes - PSL, Dauphine - PSL, ENSA Paris - Malaquais - PSL, ENS-PSL, Ecole des arts décoratifs - PSL and one of our new Paris Schools, the Paris School of IA (PR[AI]RIE-PSAI).
Created to commemorate 250 years of Franco-American friendship and diplomatic relations, under the high patronage of the President of France, the Lafayette scholarship is designed for high-achieving, exceptional American students. The program is organized by the Villa Albertine in partnership with France Science.
A welcome ceremony was held on September 2 at the Mazet Student Life Center, attended by the President of PSL University, as well as Jean-Baptiste de Froment, director of the École nationale supérieure d’architecture Paris-Malaquais – PSL, Olivier Poncet, president of the École nationale des chartes – PSL, Isabelle Ryl, director of PR [AI]RIE-PSAI, and Emmanuel Tibloux, Director of the École des Arts Décoratifs – PSL.
The Lafayette Fellows enroll in a one-year masters program at Université PSL, during which they participate in leadership training and meet with leading French institutions.
From French architectural heritage to the impacts of AI on cognitive behavior, each of the seven Fellows is continuing a research project or pursuing a specific mission during their academic year in Paris at one of the Université's six institutions.
All 30 Lafayette Fellows will have the opportunity to discover Université PSL through visits and training sessions this spring.
